About The Haecksen

We are a group for technicians, hackers, makers, scientists, artists, activists in the hacker scene and those who want to be part of it. We consider ourselves queer-inclusive and we are feminist – in STEM professions as well as in the hacker scene.

The Haecksen were founded in 1988 by Rena Tangens and Barbara Thoens. Since then, we have evolved to become FINTA-inclusive as of summer 2021 and FLINTA-inclusive as of 2024. FLINTA is an abbreviation for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender.
