To ensure a pleasant experience for all participants in the remote part of cfc25, the general CoC also applies to all remote and hybrid events.

The remote part of cfc primarily takes place in BBB rooms. The following additional points apply:
Chat and general communication
- The public chat should not be used for off-topic or private conversations due to readability reasons
- On-topic discussions should be moved to the “session chat” (likely an IRC) and only communicate in the public BBB chat what should be conveyed to the speaker
- Private conversations can use DMs available in BBB rooms
Camera
- Viewers’ cameras should not be turned on due to limited resources in the video conferencing system
Microphone
- The microphone can only be turned on for speaking after instruction from the moderation
- The microphone should not be turned on without being prompted. If you want to speak, signal the moderation by “raising your hand”
- A headset or streaming microphone should be used if possible
- If the audio quality is too poor (strong background noise, crackling etc.), the moderation can decide that a microphone must remain turned off
Recordings
- Recordings (video, audio, chat, screenshots etc.) are generally not allowed to protect the rights of participants and presenters
- Exceptions may apply to individual chat messages, such as shared links, if explicitly communicated as savable
- Saving received direct messages is only allowed with the explicit consent of the other person
- In cases of harassing or discriminatory behavior, relevant parts of public and private chats may be forwarded to the Awareness Team
